Guided Snorkel and Kayak
Enjoy the clear, calm waters of the Big Island and see the pristine and protected coral gardens of Puako Reef, Waialea Bay and Crystal Cove. You’ll snorkel with a variety of colorful fish while keeping a lookout for curious green sea turtles, and can even explore and swim through underwater sea arches! After snacks and an informative talk on reef ecology you’ll paddle to another snorkel site (weather and time permitting) where Hawaiian spinner dolphins are sometimes viewed and Humpback whales arrive in the winter. This is a safe, educational and fun tour for beginner or advanced kayakers. Double-occupancy kayaks are used with couples paired together, singles paired with other singles. They have several nearly “untippable” Hobie Mirage kayaks, that can be paddled, pedaled, and sailed. Beginners sometimes find they pedal faster and more easily than paddle and they’re ideal for a parent and small
child!
Restrictions: Minimum 6yrs of age (parent should realize they may be doing most of the paddling and should be strong enough to handle the kayak).
Included: Certified lifeguard tour guide, flotation devices, fish ID cards, snorkel gear (no prescription masks), bottled water and healthy snacks.
Wear/Bring: Biodegradable sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, towel, reef-walkers or sport sandals (only needed during launching and return to beach), waterproof or weatherproof camera.
